The Alameda Community Sailing Center provides a unique opportunity for volunteers from all walks of life to come together and share their passion for sailing. Our instructors are dedicated to teaching and caring for our students, helping them to develop their skills and love of the open water. We also place a strong emphasis on creating a supportive community environment, promoting inclusiveness, respecting the environment, and providing adventure. All while having a lot of fun! Yuki-sensei is the founder and owner of this unique space in Alameda. After 16 years in the corporate world as an accountant, Yuki had a dream of creating a nurturing environment for children and families. She followed her passion and earned an AA in Childhood Education from American River College in Sacramento. Yuki has also taught Japanese at Port Sacrament Japanese School and various private schools in the Bay Area. Originally from Japan, Yuki calls Alameda home where she lives with her husband and two children (16 and 12 years old). She opened Blue Moon in November 2013 to bring her vision to life and has been providing a safe and enriching environment for children and families ever since. Blue Moon Learning Center provides a play area and a variety of classes for children ages 2 and up.

Welcome to Alameda StudioTime! Our home studio provides ambitious fine art classes for young artists ages 5 and up. We understand the importance of creating a relaxed, non-competitive environment for our students to nurture and inspire their creativity. Our artist-teachers work hard to create exciting projects for our students to engage in. In order to protect our families, StudioTime follows the strictest CDC and City of Alameda health and safety guidelines. This includes daily temperature testing, masks, social distancing, sanitizing, and hand washing for all staff and participants. We appreciate every family’s commitment to their personal safety. StudioTime offers a variety of programs for our students, including an After-School program, a Homeschool program, and a summer workshop series. Richmond Community Works (RCW) offers a wide range of exciting musical performances and artistic exhibitions. From Balinese and Balkan to Brazilian and Arabic music, RCW’s concerts are sure to please. Music lovers can also enjoy contemporary music, Japanese Taiko Drama, German Masked Theater and the 4 Cellos concert featuring former Kronos Quartet member Joan Jeanrenaud. RCW also presents Hanayui performing traditional Japanese dance and music, as well as Will Durst’s New Year’s Eve comedy show. RCW's K Gallery features eight dynamic art exhibitions each year, giving artists a chance to interact with their viewing audience. Plus, visitors can attend the free weekly “Art Jam” to mingle and create art, artist lectures and workshops.
