Camp Allen has been serving campers since 1931, when it was founded by the Boston Lions Club and the Manchester Lions Club as a retreat for young girls who were blind. Over the years the mission has expanded to include individuals of all ages and abilities. Today, more than 600 campers attend Camp Allen each summer, for one, two or multiple weeks.

At Bedford Dance Center we offer an array of classes in ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, hip hop, tap and acro. Our studios feature full length mirrors for dancers to perfect their technique, state-of-the-art TV/Monitors for live streaming of classes via Zoom, floating sprung floors with marley, a UV/HEPA air filtration system, air conditioning, free high speed wifi, and caring professionally trained faculty. Our dancers also have the opportunity to perform in our annual production of the “Nutcracker Suite” and extra performance opportunities with our youth performing group, the Bedford Dance Center Ensemble. At the Educational Farm at Joppa Hill, we strive to foster a connection between people and the land in order to conserve our region’s farming heritage. We offer a variety of programs for all ages, including garden plots, school field trips, summer camps, agricultural fairs, birthday parties, and more. We also serve as a trailhead for hikers, horseback riders, runners, and other outdoor enthusiasts. Located on 35 acres of public land leased from the Town of Bedford, N.H., the Educational Farm at Joppa Hill is open to the public every day.
