Founded in the early 1900s, the camp was named after William Lawrence, an early advocate of camping. For many years, the camp had a strong relationship with the Episcopal Church. Families often learned of the camp through their local parishes, and during the summer, visiting clergy offered Sunday services in the outdoor chapel. Through the years, the camp has continued to promote the importance of shared values and ideals. In the late sixties, the camp ended its association with the church, but has continued to embrace this same core philosophy. Camp Wiyaka is the perfect place to send your child this summer! Located on the shores of Sandy Pond in the hills of Richmond, New Hampshire, this residential summer camp is the perfect place to create a small community atmosphere. With a maximum of 72 campers per week, campers and staff alike have the opportunity to get to know one another. The 125-acre property includes pine woods, playing fields, and two waterfront areas with boathouses. Camp Mowglis' mission is to promote integrity, empathy, resilience, and leadership in young boys through outdoor experiential programs. Reverend Donald Browne had a dream to create a special place on the mountainside between Greenfield and Peterborough, New Hampshire. He named it Brantwood Camp, after the famous hillside home of the same name in England's Lake District, which he had visited in 1900. At Brantwood Camp, we strive to develop strong moral character and confidence in each child. Our activities are designed to cultivate honesty, loyalty, cooperation, good sportsmanship, and unselfishness. Every day, campers follow a schedule that includes meals, activity periods, camp duties, chapel, campfires, and rest. Our ultimate goal is for each camper to become independent in body, spirit, and mind. Parents have much to be excited about when considering Beam Camp for their children. Founded in 2004, Beam Camp has provided 1000+ campers with exciting experiences in creative problem-solving through working with their hands and actively collaborating with others. Campers and staff build a large-scale collaborative project chosen through an annual worldwide design competition, and the projects have been recognized with international media attention and major architecture prizes. To further their mission, Danny and Brian founded the nonprofit Beam Center in 2011, and in 2015 Brian donated the Beam Camp operation to Beam Center and became its Executive Director. Beam Center now collaborates with 29+ NYC public middle and high schools and its Brooklyn home hosts Apprenticeship and Youth Employment programs. Beam Camp proudly offers scholarships and tuition assistance for more than 20% of all campers, with the majority of these funds going to students from Beam Center’s New York City youth network.
