Brantwood Camp was the dream child of one man, the Reverend Donald Browne, an Episcopal clergyman from Massachusetts. Browne had first visited the mountainside between Greenfield and Peterborough, New Hampshire in 1900, and he had named it “Brantwood” because its magnificent view was reminiscent of the one from John Ruskin’s famous hillside home of that name, located in England’s Lake District. The daily activities at Brantwood Camp are carefully structured around our philosophy of honesty, loyalty, cooperation, good sportsmanship, and unselfishness. Our activities get campers to live, think, and act responsibly, with self-reliance and self-esteem. Each day, campers follow a schedule that includes three meals, six activity periods, camp duties, chapel with inspirational talk, evening campfires and sing-alongs, and rest periods. Our goal is to develop character, confidence, and physical, intellectual, and emotional independence in all our campers.... Show more
