The Blue Hills Trailside Museum is a unique partnership between the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and a natural history museum. The museum is the perfect place to learn more about the native wildlife of the Blue Hills Reservation. Visitors have the chance to see up close a variety of animals, such as a River Otter and Red Foxes, that have been rescued and are unable to be released back into the wild. At the Blue Hills Trailside Museum, parents and children can explore the outdoor exhibits and learn more about the local wildlife. The animals on display provide a rare opportunity to view native species in their natural habitats. The animals are not able to be released back into the wild, so the museum is the perfect way to get close to nature without compromising the animals' safety. Established in 1996, the Milton Early Childhood Alliance is a program of Discovery Schoolhouse, Inc. designed to foster healthy development during early childhood. Backed by the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Grant from the MA Department of Early Education and Care, the Milton Early Childhood Alliance works to ensure that children receive the best possible start in life. Through a range of services and initiatives, the Milton Early Childhood Alliance strives to equip parents with the resources and skills necessary to support their children’s development. Programs include home visits, playgroups, parent education, and early childhood screenings. The Alliance also works with local organizations and agencies to promote quality early education and care in the Milton community. The Milton Early Childhood Alliance is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children and their families. By providing valuable resources and support, the Alliance is helping to ensure that all children in the Milton area have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
