About Mass Audubon Blue Hills Trailside Museum in Milton, MA

The Blue Hills Trailside Museum is a unique partnership between the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and a natural history museum. The museum is the perfect place to learn more about the native wildlife of the Blue Hills Reservation. Visitors have the chance to see up close a variety of animals, such as a River Otter and Red Foxes, that have been rescued and are unable to be released back into the wild. Blue Hills Trailside Museum is a natural history museum situated at the base of Great Blue Hill in Milton, owned by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and managed by Mass Audubon. Trailside Museum features native, non-releasable wildlife and exhibits on the natural history of the Blue Hills and Massachusetts. We offer programs and animal presentations for schools, scout groups, organizations, adults, families, and more. Our programs are offered both at the museum and at your site. We also offer facility rentals for workshops and functions.

Our unique location atop scenic Chickatawbut Hill invites campers ages 5–16 to discover nature through hands-on exploration, creative play, and active learning. Small camp groups and experienced, caring staff create a friendly and safe atmosphere on "the hill."
