The Very Merry Theatre began as a small summer camp in Charlotte and Burlington and has since grown to become a theater company for children that performs one-of-a-kind plays at schools and community centers across Northwest Vermont. Executive Director Don Wright, who had three boys attending Edmunds Elementary School at the time, was instrumental in getting these early productions off the ground. These productions set the foundation for the organization's creative potential and served as a stepping stone for the theater's growth. At Very Merry Theatre, we are passionate about promoting the growth of a vibrant community by providing children of all ages and backgrounds with the opportunity to practice theater. We believe that through the work and play that goes into creating theater, we are fostering literary and theater skills, self-confidence, and pride. Our commitment to this mission is evident in our annual productions at schools and community centers, our Travelling Theater Summer Camps, and our studio in Burlington’s Old North End Community Center.

For those looking to get their children involved in climbing, Petra Cliffs has a youth program that begins at age five. We even welcome younger climbers for drop-in climbing or memberships. Group programs are also available with our Group Pricing or through a custom program. Our experienced instructors will not only make sure your kids have a great time, but that they stay safe while learning the ropes.

At the local skating rink, families can take advantage of a variety of skating times open to the public. Whether you’re a novice skater or a seasoned pro, you can sharpen your skills during stick and puck sessions. Bring your own stick, skates and helmet and you’re ready to go. If you’re looking for an activity for your group or party, the rink also offers private ice times for rental. Or, if you’d like to receive one-on-one instruction, private instruction time is available. So grab your skates and helmet and head to the skating rink for a fun and active day. Whether you’re playing a small game with friends or brushing up on your skills, you’re sure to have a great time on the ice.

From kayaking and canoeing to sailing and community sails, the Community Sailing Center offers a variety of ways to get out on the lake and have fun. We believe that by creating positive experiences on the lake we can foster a greater appreciation for the lake and its resources. At the Community Sailing Center, we are dedicated to encouraging and celebrating the responsible use and long term stewardship of Lake Champlain. SOCAPA, the School of Creative and Performing Arts, is the perfect place for teens to explore their creative passions. With camps for ages 13 to 19, these students have the opportunity to make films, dance, and take fashion shoots in some of the world's most iconic locations. At SOCAPA, teens can combine their artistic expression with the fun of summer camp.
