About Petra Cliffs Climbing Center & Mountaineering School in Burlington, VT
At Petra Cliffs, we are dedicated to providing an enjoyable, welcoming, and safe environment for all climbers. Our extensive indoor climbing facility is designed to appeal to climbers of every level, and our experienced instructors specialize in teaching classes and excursions both indoors and outdoors. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced climber, Petra Cliffs is the perfect place to hone your skills and reach new heights! For those looking to get their children involved in climbing, Petra Cliffs has a youth program that begins at age five. We even welcome younger climbers for drop-in climbing or memberships. Group programs are also available with our Group Pricing or through a custom program. Our experienced instructors will not only make sure your kids have a great time, but that they stay safe while learning the ropes.

Programs at Petra Cliffs Climbing Center & Mountaineering School in Burlington, VT
BeAKid
Mini Monkeys Ages 5-7
Ages 5 to 7 will have the opportunity to climb with other kids in a recreational and instructional setting with Petra Cliffs coaches. Our goals for this season include making a structured but fun atmosphere for kids to learn new climbing skills, vocabulary, problem-solving skills, and confidence.
BeAKid
Day Camp Ages 6-14
Our staff members are students, teachers, and responsible, highly-trained, adventure-loving leaders. They share a respect for the natural world and areas we visit with campers. They teach skills and safety in every activity during SumMAT Camp. We conduct background checks for all summer camp staff. All camp staff are Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder and CPR certified; many have additional certifications.

Youth Climbing Team Ages 8-18
Petra Cliffs Climbing Team prides itself on being the best place for kids of all abilities to come, learn, and climb! Our primary goal is to help make climbing fun & accessible to kids of all ages & ability levels, and to provide increased challenge to those who hunger for it. Climbing is a life-long sport that starts with having great experiences as a young climber. To help all of our kids achieve their climbing goals & get the most out of team, we have three different options for team climbers.
