At YWCA Northern New Jersey, our commitment to empowering women and girls is stronger than ever. Since our founding in 1919, we have been a leader in the fight against gender and racial discrimination, and we remain the oldest and largest multicultural women’s organization in the world. Our programs and services are tailored to meet the needs of our diverse communities, with a range of healingSPACE initiatives, anti-racism training, policy advocacy, and more. YWCA Northern New Jersey also provides essential child care services and senior wellness programs in the northern part of the state. We have recently extended our reach into Essex County, Hudson County, Morris County, and Passaic County, while continuing our deep commitment to the Bergen County community where we began our mission nearly a century ago. No matter the location, YWCA Northern New Jersey strives to create more just and inclusive communities each and every day. We work diligently to provide support and resources to empower women and girls, improve the lives of seniors, and ensure that everyone can enjoy the same rights and privileges no matter their background.

Through this program, they’ll learn important life skills in a positive, supportive environment. Kipanga and Camp Katikati are two exceptional summer camps that offer children and tweens with social deficits the extra help they need to have a fun and successful camp experience. From swimming to art, theater to science, yoga to cooking, there are plenty of activities to keep campers engaged and learning all summer long. With a focus on socialization and positive reinforcement, these camps are sure to be a memorable and rewarding experience for every camper!

US Gym has been offering a variety of programs and camps to families in the Bergen County and NYC Metro area since 1992. Our philosophy is to focus on the foundations of gymnastics, in a fun and exciting environment. We feel that gymnastics is a stepping-stone for all sports, and the skills and team spirit that your child practices with us will carry over to many other aspects of life.

Training in the martial arts develops self-confidence, condition one’s self mentally and physically. In addition to learning self-defense, karate appears to be the perfect exercise, not only for the body, but also for developing qualities of inner mental strength, positive character traits and leadership skills. Karate is an ART that cultivates positive thinking. It helps to sharpen one’s focus, concentration and attention span. Through the regular practice of kata, drills and sparring, students gain self-confidence which improves self-esteem. The structure of traditional karate training fosters self-discipline which helps with performance in school and work. Karate training provides excellent physical conditioning for youth, and adults by developing balance, posture, coordination, agility and core strength. All of the main muscle groups (arms, legs, back, chest, abdomen) are used during the practice of basics, partner drills, kata, bunkai, kumite and conditioning exercises. teens
