The Gigueres family has been a part of the community since 1973. Founded by Joanne Giguere, the business quickly became one of the first gymnastics training schools in the area, with a top quality dance program run by Joan Sherry. They saw an opportunity to expand the business and add a wider based program for area youth, and this led to the addition of Discovery School House. This inspiring initiative, Main IDEA, was founded by a group of passionate artists, musicians, and dancers who dreamt of creating a more open and accessible arts community in Worcester. The workshops ran in the summer of 2011, and gave kids an opportunity to explore their creative side in a safe and supportive environment. After the week of creative exploration, the kids were able to share their artwork in a showcase with family, friends, and community members. Main IDEA is a fantastic example of how creativity can bring people together and help foster a more open and accessible arts community.
