Inspired by Waldorf Education, our program offers imaginative play and reverence for the natural world. We believe that our young children are on a journey of discovery, and our program supports them in exploring the beauty and mystery of the world. Through joyful engagement, we strive to cultivate a deep connection with nature and the world around them. We offer our program for children 15 months to 5 years old, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. We believe that children learn best through play and exploration, and we strive to offer a variety of activities that will foster their development and creativity.

At our school, we believe that children learn best when they’re allowed to explore and interact with their environment. We arrange our classrooms with furniture and other materials to promote active learning, independence, and cooperative play. There’s no pressure to hurry — children can take their time and select activities that interest them. Our classrooms also provide various “languages” for children to express ideas, ask questions, and learn. This includes clay, paint, dramatic play, music, and graphic art materials. They can use these materials in a safe, appropriate and independent way, teaching them how to manipulate equipment and other resources. By giving kids the chance to explore and express themselves, we create an environment where learning is truly fun.

At Island Children's School, we recognize that our students are more than just academic achievers. Our founders, Joan Lester and Linda McCarthy, opened our doors back in 1969 with the goal of providing a unique educational experience for their own children. At Vineyard Montessori School, we strive to provide an exceptional education that fosters self-motivation, creativity, and independent thinking. Our non-profit school provides a progressive education to children from toddlers to grade eight, following the philosophy and curriculum developed by Italian physician and educator, Maria Montessori. The school is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees, and our mission is to ensure our students develop the foundational habits, attitudes, skills, and ideas essential to a lifetime of learning. Vineyard Montessori School is committed to providing a stimulating learning environment where children can develop to their fullest potential. Our school puts a strong emphasis on self-discovery, creativity, and problem-solving, which will help students become self-motivated and independent thinkers. We are dedicated to helping our students build the skills to continue to learn and grow throughout life. With the help of our Board of Trustees, we are working hard to ensure a bright future for all of our students.

Martha’s Vineyard Adventure Camp is the perfect place for 7-14 year-olds to explore the outdoors. Our mission is to engage children in a fun, challenging and adventurous environment with an emphasis on safety. From rock climbing and sailing to nature hikes and beach exploration, our campers are provided with age-appropriate skill sets and progressive activities. We make sure to equip our campers with the necessary safety equipment, first aid materials and certified, quality staff members. With a staff to camper ratio of 1:6, our campers are given the individual attention and support they need to explore the wonders of the Martha’s Vineyard outdoors.

RISE Vineyard Performing Arts has been inspiring young dancers since 2007. Under the direction of Jil Matrisciano, RISE provides a nurturing and professional learning environment with the highest quality of dance education. The mission of the studio is to foster positivity, facilitate growth and encourage inspiration. The supportive atmosphere encourages creativity and expression, and allows students to form meaningful friendships and gain confidence. RISE Vineyard Performing Arts is committed to helping young dancers achieve their full potential. Through the leadership of Jil Matrisciano, the studio provides a safe and encouraging space for students to explore their talents and grow both on and off stage. The studio’s mission is to build a positive environment that encourages creativity and inspires learning.

Their all-inclusive facility provides programs for all ages and abilities, so everyone can find something to enjoy. Plus, Airport Fitness works hard to ensure our island community can benefit from their services by providing year-round employment and fundraising for charities.
