With a flick of his tail, he can splash colors of joy on any canvas, or even the giant pumpkins that grow in the local farms. Parents Magazine is excited to introduce Camp Arrowhead, a summer camp in Natick, Massachusetts, specifically designed for kids and adults with special needs. Camp Arrowhead offers six weeks of day camp, with registration first awarded to Natick residents and then the remaining spots through a lottery for out-of-towners. The registration process is completely submitted online. The camp runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm five days a week, with groups of ten campers spaced out per regulations. Campers participate in some activities as part of their groups, while other activities are done as a camp. Each camper is paired with a one-on-one buddy, either provided by the camp or one that parents can provide, to provide companionship and assistance as needed. If a camper requires full assistance in the bathroom or changing clothes, a one-on-one buddy must be provided by the parent. Camp Arrowhead provides a safe and supportive environment to help kids and adults with special needs have a fun and fulfilling summer experience.
