While Martha’s Vineyard is a top vacation destination attracting visitors from all around the world – our year-round population of 17,000 is one of the poorest in the Commonwealth.
With a seasonal economy and a high cost of living, the Vineyard can be a difficult place to live without the emotional, financial, or social resources available to help cope with personal, health and family problems.

Programs
Child Care
We believe that children learn through play and active engagement with the world around them. Our teachers use their knowledge of child development to create enriching, nurturing, consistent and predictable learning environments. The classroom curriculum evolves from the teachers’ observations and documentation of the children’s development, interests, ideas and questions. Experiences are offered to engage the children and encourage growth in all developmental areas
Head Start
Our program is home-based and locally designed for the community we serve. Our home-based model is structured to capitalize on the learning opportunities in the home environment.
