He gained invaluable experience working at the local music store, Acton Music Center, for over two decades. With lots of help and support, Marc and Nancy opened the doors of City Music in Gardner, MA, which quickly became a success. In 2006, with his son Stephen, Marc opened a second location in Leominster, MA.
