The Park District is responsible to the people of Wilmette through the election and referendum process. It is authorized by the Illinois Park District Code, which allows it to levy taxes, acquire and develop parks, build and operate recreation facilities, and conduct recreation programs. As a former athlete, I understand the power of sports. Growing up, I excelled in athletics and found joy in pushing myself to reach the highest levels of competition. I was part of the US National Team and competed in multiple World Championships and Pan American Games, where I proudly won gold medals. But the medals and titles are not what drive me. I take pride in knowing that I have given my all and achieved a sense of personal fulfillment that no material reward can match. This is why I’m passionate about inspiring others to reach their goals and experience the same satisfaction. Sheridan Shore Sailing School has been offering students the opportunity to learn the exhilarating sport of sailing for over 50 years. Our courses emphasize both sailing skill and the importance of seamanship, and are designed for individuals of all levels of experience, from beginners to more advanced sailors. Wendy and DB have joined forces to create an exciting new music experience for kids and families. Through Wendy & DB, children can learn about the fundamentals of music and how to create and play their own tunes. Their program is designed to be engaging and fun, allowing kids to express themselves through music. Wendy Morgan and Darryl Boggs have combined their talents to bring music education to the community. Wendy began her journey with a music program at the Wilmette Park District, teaching and playing music with children. This program eventually developed into a live music show for the whole community to enjoy. Darryl has taught music in both private and public schools, and has a special passion for creating songs for primary school students. The duo now offers a unique musical experience for kids and families. Wendy and DB provide instruction in the fundamentals of music, allowing children to learn and explore music-making. Their engaging and enjoyable program encourages children to express themselves musically. Wendy and DB offer a special opportunity for children to learn and grow through music.
