The Park District is responsible to the people of Wilmette through the election and referendum process. It is authorized by the Illinois Park District Code, which allows it to levy taxes, acquire and develop parks, build and operate recreation facilities, and conduct recreation programs. The Park District's mission is to provide quality recreational facilities, programs, and services to meet the needs of the community, now and in the future. The Park District is committed to making Wilmette a community that can be enjoyed by all, offering a variety of recreational activities for everyone. From swimming pools to golf courses to youth programs, the Park District provides a wide variety of programs and facilities to keep Wilmette’s citizens healthy, active, and engaged. The Park District also works hard to preserve the natural beauty of Wilmette, protecting its natural resources for future generations.

Wendy and DB have joined forces to create an exciting new music experience for kids and families. Through Wendy & DB, children can learn about the fundamentals of music and how to create and play their own tunes. Their program is designed to be engaging and fun, allowing kids to express themselves through music. Wendy Morgan and Darryl Boggs have combined their talents to bring music education to the community. Wendy began her journey with a music program at the Wilmette Park District, teaching and playing music with children. This program eventually developed into a live music show for the whole community to enjoy. Darryl has taught music in both private and public schools, and has a special passion for creating songs for primary school students. The duo now offers a unique musical experience for kids and families. Wendy and DB provide instruction in the fundamentals of music, allowing children to learn and explore music-making. Their engaging and enjoyable program encourages children to express themselves musically. Wendy and DB offer a special opportunity for children to learn and grow through music.

For more than a decade, the Actors Training Center (ATC) has served the greater Chicagoland area. We are honored to have been the recipients of the Illinois Theatre Association's 2019 Award of Honor. Our goal is to inspire a love of the performing arts in people of all ages, and to empower our students to use their art to create positive change in their communities and beyond. Our talented team of experienced professionals equip our students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today's ever-evolving entertainment industry. We provide our students with the resources that will help them make their mark in the industry of the future.

At our swim school, we believe that every child should be empowered with the skills, safety and confidence they need in the water. Our team of adult instructors are passionate about making a difference in each child's life, adapting lessons to each individual and getting in the water with them. We are proud to be the best swim school in the area, offering continuous weekly lessons available all year round so your child can start and stop any time. We have programs for all ages — from babies and toddlers to older children — and cater to different skill levels, so your child can learn and progress at their own pace.

As a former athlete, I understand the power of sports. Growing up, I excelled in athletics and found joy in pushing myself to reach the highest levels of competition. I was part of the US National Team and competed in multiple World Championships and Pan American Games, where I proudly won gold medals. But the medals and titles are not what drive me. I take pride in knowing that I have given my all and achieved a sense of personal fulfillment that no material reward can match. This is why I’m passionate about inspiring others to reach their goals and experience the same satisfaction. I believe that with hard work and dedication, anyone can reach their dreams and find a level of joy and satisfaction that no prize can match.

Since 2007, the Actors Training Center has been serving the greater Chicagoland area and we are proud to have been honored by the Illinois Theatre Association with their 2019 Award of Honor. ATC is a launching pad for actors of all ages who want to make a career in the performing arts, be it in film, television, or on the stage. Our passionate and dedicated staff are committed to helping our students to reach their full potential and to use their art to make a positive difference. At North Shore Music, our experienced instructors provide private music instruction to all ages on guitar, bass, drums, piano, voice, banjo, ukulele, saxophone, clarinet, and flute. Our Wilmette music school is proud to offer some of the best instructors in Chicagoland, who are in-demand professionals and skilled in helping students achieve their individual goals. Our top-notch instructors help develop musicality and self-confidence, which allows students to perform at their best. With a strong foundation in musical concepts, they are also trained to apply and teach these concepts. We believe that commitment is best fostered by rewarding success, which encourages students to reach their peak potential.

At CKC, we strive to create an environment where children can feel safe, comfortable, and accepted. Our program offers kids a chance to explore their interests, express themselves, and develop life-skills that will serve them in the future. We strive to build the confidence and motivation necessary for children to achieve more on their own. Our supportive and inclusive setting allows children to grow creatively and independently, while building social skills and exploring the world around them.

In 1968, Wilmette residents narrowly voted down a referendum that would have created a swimming pool, children's park, bath house/warming house, natural ice rink and toboggan hill in Community Playfield. However, the acquisition of the land that is now Centennial Park led to the construction of a sports complex facility instead. This facility now includes a pool, eight indoor tennis courts and two indoor ice rinks. With the addition of these amenities, Wilmette residents have access to an array of sports and recreational activities and facilities to meet their needs.
