Once upon a time, in the charming state of Connecticut, nestled between New York and Rhode Island, lived a group of extraordinary kids known as the "Splashtacular Swimmers". Connecticut, a magical land of endless beauty, wrapped in a sparkling blanket of autumn leaves, snow-dusted winters, blooming springs and sunlit summers, was the perfect place for these water wizards. These kids weren't just any ordinary swimmers; they were Connecticut's greatest, splashing their way through every river, lake, and pool that could fit their flippers. Their leader, a buoyant boy named Bob, was no bigger than a beluga but swam quicker than a quokka can climb. Bob had a slick, shiny head which he claimed made him swim faster. The Splashtacular Swimmers could be found at sunrise, cutting through the calm waters of the Connecticut River like hot knives through ice cream. They held races in Lake Compounce, leaving trails of laughter and light-hearted competition in their wake. Even during the chilly winter days, they'd plunge into the indoor pools, their chattering teeth turned into roars of laughter once they were under the heated water. They were a diverse group, hailing from the bustling cities of Hartford and New Haven, the tranquil countryside of Litchfield Hills, and the shoreline towns of Mystic and New London. But despite their different backgrounds, they all shared one thing in common: a love for swimming that was as deep as the Long Island Sound itself. One might say the Splashtacular Swimmers were as much a part of Connecticut as its lush green landscapes, picturesque lighthouses, and delightful lobster rolls. Indeed, the state wouldn't be quite the same without Bob and his band of buoyant buddies, who splashed their way right into the heart of Connecticut.

For the past 40 years, the BeVier family has been helping children across Connecticut make a splash! Since 1974, when Chick and Susan BeVier first founded The School of Swimming, they have been providing swimming instruction and camping adventures for thousands of children. Camp Eagle Feather and Camp Eagle Wing were opened in 1984 and 2006 respectively to add more opportunities for outdoor fun. Today, Heather BeVier continues the BeVier family tradition as the director of The School of Swimming. At The School of Swimming, children ages 3 ½ to adulthood can learn the important skill of swimming. With water all around us in pools, lakes, rivers, beaches, and off boats, being able to swim allows us to make the most of these aquatic environments safely and confidently. Swimming skills acquired at The School of Swimming stay with children for life, giving them endless opportunities to enjoy the water. The BeVier family has been providing swimming instruction and outdoor experiences to children in Connecticut for over four decades. At Cheshire Aquatic Club (CAC), swimmers of all ages had the chance to play a little basketball at the end of practice tonight with coaches Vanessa and Mark. CAC is looking forward to a great showing at the Connecticut Regional Championships next weekend. This is CAC's largest summer championship team in four years, with 27 swimmers competing. The meet will take place in two locations, Cheshire on Friday and East Hartford on Saturday and Sunday. CAC has gathered all the necessary information for swimmers, parents, and coaches to be prepared for the meet. The meet schedule includes information regarding events and hotel information. This meet is a prelims/finals meet, which means if swimmers aged 11 and over make the top eight (11/12) or top sixteen (13 and over) they will qualify for the finals at night. The hotel for the competition is the Hampton Inn & Suites in Farmington, with a rate of $150 per night on Hotels.com. Cheshire Aquatic Club is confident that their swimmers will represent them well and is looking forward to the Connecticut Regional Championships next weekend. With 27 swimmers competing, this is CAC's largest summer championship team in four years and they are sure to make a splash at the meet. Their preparation and hard work leading up to the competition is sure to make them successful.
