Founded by the Norwalk Parks & Recreation Department by Cheryl and Alexandrea Kemeny, David Jackins and Mariner Pezza, the academy offers rigorous training in all aspects of musical theatre in a nurturing and encouraging environment. A true hidden gem in Norwalk, Crystal Theatre specializes in the use of original musicals written specifically for the organization, providing students with an extraordinary opportunity to perform. Crystal Theatre is committed to providing students with a safe space for learning and growth. Original founders Cheryl and Alexandrea Kemeny, David Jackins and Mariner Pezza saw a need for musical theatre opportunities for children in Norwalk outside of the annual high school musicals. As such, they created Crystal Theatre, an academy open to all students without special audition requirements. With 44 original productions and the expansion of its offerings into community theatre with its new subsidiary, Crystal Community Theatre, Crystal Theatre is an invaluable resource for young artists.
