We provide innovative, high-quality instruction, and our instructors are up-to-date on the latest trends being used in the industry today. Our staff consists of active professional artists from New York City, who are successfully pursuing a life in performance. With their help and guidance, our students gain the tools and confidence they need to succeed in the performing arts and achieve their goals.

At Town Players of New Canaan, our mission is to keep you entertained! During the pandemic, when gathering in the theater wasn’t possible, we decided to take our show to the airwaves! We created original stories written by local writers and recreated classic old-time Radio Shows starring local actors. Our radio shows will feature a range of drama, suspense, and comedy – so even when our theater is dark, we’re still able to provide an entertaining experience. Tune in and enjoy! Town Players of New Canaan is committed to bringing you entertainment, no matter the circumstances. With the theater closed due to the pandemic, we’ve turned to radio to keep you entertained. Our original radio shows feature local writers as well as local actors recreating classic old-time Radio Shows. Expect to be surprised and delighted with our range of drama, suspense, and comedy! So even when our theater is dark, we’re still able to bring you an entertaining experience. It’s the Town Players of New Canaan way!

At the New Canaan Nature Center, we strive to foster a love and respect for the natural world. We are dedicated to teaching our visitors of all ages to appreciate, protect, and enjoy nature. Our staff provides a range of educational activities, including art, music, language, math, science, and creative play. We also offer guided hikes on the grounds of our Nature Center. Our preschool program runs throughout the school year, with themes that reflect seasonal changes in nature. We are committed to being a leader in environmental education and stewardship of natural resources in our community.

The New Canaan Society for the Arts, Inc. has a mission to promote the visual and performing arts for the enrichment of the community. The Carriage Barn Arts Center is the venue for this mission, hosting eight premier art exhibitions annually along with four major juried events. Invited artists and talented high school students are showcased in curated exhibitions. Additionally, the Barn sponsors “Art in the Windows” which places art in retail shops in New Canaan for the public to enjoy. The Carriage Barn Arts Center is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday and entrance is free with a suggested donation. The New Canaan Society for the Arts, Inc. is dedicated to fostering an appreciation of the visual and performing arts through educational and cultural experiences. The Carriage Barn Arts Center is the place to find premier art exhibitions, juried events, and curated exhibitions featuring invited artists and talented high school students. Furthermore, the annual “Art in the Windows” event is a great way to get out and explore the local retail stores and see the impressive art displays. The Carriage Barn Arts Center is open from 10 am – 3 pm, Wednesday – Saturday, and 1 – 5 pm on Sundays. There is no charge to enter the gallery and all exhibitions are open to the public.

Grace Farms is free and open to the public six days a week, offering visitors of all ages the chance to explore the many outdoor and indoor activities available. Since opening in 2015, Grace Farms has been home to stunning nature trails, lush meadows, and a variety of wildlife habitats, encouraging people to explore and reflect. At Grace Farms, we believe that everything is interconnected. We strive to bring peace and grace to our local and global communities. To that end, the Grace Farms Foundation has a comprehensive, interdisciplinary mission: to pursue peace through nature, arts, justice, community, faith, and Design for Freedom. Design for Freedom is a new movement to remove forced labor from the built environment. By exploring the outdoor and indoor activities available at Grace Farms, visitors can help us in our mission to create a society free from modern slavery and gender-based violence. At Grace Farms, we strive to give everyone the chance to explore the natural beauty of our grounds and take part in our mission to create peace in our global community. With nature trails, restored meadows, and a diverse natural habitat, visitors of all ages are invited to explore and reflect. Our Foundation works through Grace Farms and its interdisciplinary humanitarian mission to pursue peace through nature, arts, justice, community, faith, and Design for Freedom. We are committed to creating a more gracious and peaceful world, and by visiting Grace Farms, you can be a part of that mission.

Each child is born with an innate creativity, and it is only when they are given the opportunity to explore their own ideas that their creative spirit is truly nurtured. Giving children the freedom to explore and make mistakes without being judged is the key to unlocking their creative potential. It is important for parents and educators to provide children with the tools and resources they need to practice creative risk-taking and to think outside of the box. Through this supportive environment, children will learn to express their original ideas and grow into creative problem solvers.

Let's take a closer look at the meaning of the word "Tae" "Kwon" "Do." It is composed of three parts as shown in the English spelling, though it is one word in Korean. "Tae" means "foot," "leg," or "to step on"; "Kwon" means "fist," or "fight"; and "Do" means the "way" or "discipline." If we put these three parts together, we can see two important concepts behind "Tae Kwon Do".
