About
The New Canaan Nature Center is a not-for-profit environmental education organization dedicated to inspiring people of all ages to respect, protect, and enjoy the world of nature. To be recognized as a leader in environmental education, stewardship of natural resources, and service to the community.
Each day’s schedule provides opportunities for children to explore and express themselves through art, music, and movement, language, math, dramatic play, and hands-on science and creative activities. The day also includes a nature walk and guided hike on the grounds of the Nature Center. Our Preschool runs length of a typical school year, September through May. Themes reflecting seasonal changes in nature provide the basis for daily activities.

School programs
Our school programs are specially designed to help connect children of all ages with the natural world!
Off-site After School Programs
There is no better way to have students learn about science and the natural world than through one of our After School Program Series. Students can dive deep into a variety of topics over the course of several weeks. Our Off-site (and in-school) School Program Series can help promote meaningful learning for groups of up to 12 students.
Boy/Girl Scouts
The New Canaan Nature Center offers 40 acres of natural habitats along with an animal ambassador collection of Birds of Prey, Reptiles, Amphibians, and Mammals that can accentuate your Advancement goals.
Adventure Birthday Parties
Perfect for children, ages 3-12. For larger parties or parties for children under the age of 3, please see below for a link to our facility rental options.
