The Point Loma/Hervey Library in San Diego is a place where your whole family can explore. With its two-story building boasting a marine and nautical theme, your children will be delighted as they explore the sailboat reading room complete with portholes, mast and sails, and a functioning submarine periscope on the first floor. For mom and dad, the library features several conference rooms, a computer lab, and a media room, as well as a Veterans Resource Center. This center is staffed by volunteers and supported by the California Department of Veterans Affairs, and is available by appointment. The Mission Hills-Hillcrest/Harley & Bessie Knox Library is a state-of-the-art facility located in the heart of San Diego. On January 26th, 2019 the library opened its doors to the public and has since become a beacon for the communities of Bankers Hill, Hillcrest, Middletown, Mission Hills and Old Town. This incredible 15,000 square-foot library is named in honor of the late philanthropists Harley and Bessie Knox and is expected to receive a whopping 350,000 visits annually. This modern library offers a range of amenities that are sure to please all parents. It features designated areas for teens and young children, a community meeting space, study rooms, computer labs, drought-tolerant landscaping, and an underground parking garage. Additionally, the library was designed with sustainability in mind and is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification.
