The Mission Hills-Hillcrest/Harley & Bessie Knox Library is a state-of-the-art facility located in the heart of San Diego. On January 26th, 2019 the library opened its doors to the public and has since become a beacon for the communities of Bankers Hill, Hillcrest, Middletown, Mission Hills and Old Town. This incredible 15,000 square-foot library is named in honor of the late philanthropists Harley and Bessie Knox and is expected to receive a whopping 350,000 visits annually. This modern library offers a range of amenities that are sure to please all parents. It features designated areas for teens and young children, a community meeting space, study rooms, computer labs, drought-tolerant landscaping, and an underground parking garage. Additionally, the library was designed with sustainability in mind and is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification. Our school has been providing art education for 17+ years, and our reputation for quality has been growing. We started with only 7 students in 2002, and today we have over 600! We are proud to have families that have been with us since their children were 4 years old, and have grown with us until they graduate high school. The Point Loma/Hervey Library in San Diego is a place where your whole family can explore. With its two-story building boasting a marine and nautical theme, your children will be delighted as they explore the sailboat reading room complete with portholes, mast and sails, and a functioning submarine periscope on the first floor. This center is staffed by volunteers and supported by the California Department of Veterans Affairs, and is available by appointment.
