McGovern Irish Dance offers exceptional Irish dance instruction from ages 2 - 102 for adults and children from beginner to championship levels. We strive to develop the self-esteem, confidence, and Irish dance skills of each dancer in a positive nurturing environment where all of our students can reach their full potential. We work to instill a sense of unity and friendship among our students and their families through a variety of Irish cultural events such as the Dayton Celtic Festival, Celtic Fest Ohio, Dayton's A World A'fiar, Troy Festival of National, Global Fest in Lafayette IN and more. Our dancers also have several opportunities to participe in local, national and international dance competitions.
We offer a non-competitive environment for students to learn. We utilize positive reinforcement, small class sizes (5-10), and a family oriented environment. Not only do we use classic instruction, but we also use other methods including games to allow the children to have fun while learning.

Dayton Contemporary Dance Company was founded in 1968 to create performance opportunities for dancers of color. Five decades later, the 10th largest modern contemporary dance company in the nation remains rooted in the African-American experience and committed to the development of diverse movement artists on the global stage. A co-recipient of one of the dance world’s highest honors, the 2016 Bessie Award for Outstanding Revival, DCDC has been presented by American Dance Festival, Paul Taylor American Modern Dance, and Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and supported by National Endowment for the Arts and New England Foundation for the Arts among others.
We not only hope to teach you dancing and / or twirling, but also to develop self-confidence, grace, body coordination, memorization skills, rhythm, and eye / hand coordination with baton and flag. In addition, a healthy competitive spirit and the opportunity for artistic expression! My dream studio at last!! It has two large 40×40 teaching dance rooms, wood floors, mirrors, etc.! We can have Production Practice at the studio! No more band room! I am so excited! Although, when I moved into my present studio, I thought that was my dream studio, except I wanted larger dance rooms! Now, here it is! We have it all!! Join us!
