The mission of the New Jersey Workshop for the Arts, “where talent develops and creativity thrives,” is to enrich lives by providing opportunities to develop creative talents and encourage a greater appreciation of the arts through both instruction and performance. Founded by Executive Director Dr. Theodore K. Schlosberg in 1972, the NJWA has been dedicated to helping children, adults and senior citizens explore and participate in the arts throughout the year with private and group instruction, performing ensembles, summer camps and more. The faculty is composed of professional artists, musicians and educators who nurture the talents of each individual student.

Parents are always looking for ways to nurture their children's artistic talents, and learning the Classics can be a great way to do just that! That’s why we’re thrilled to offer our unique music program, which combines classical training and music theory with a variety of other genres. Not only that, but our program also features special recording features that make learning the Classics fun and interactive. Not only are students able to learn the Classics in an entertaining way, but they also gain a greater understanding of the music theory that goes along with it. Our program encourages children to explore and experiment with different genres, so they can find the type of music that speaks to them and express themselves through it. With our unique recording features, they can create their own compositions and practice their skills, giving them the confidence to pursue a career in music.

Here with us all throughout the year teaching classes, workshops, private coaching, and preparing students for auditions both professional and academic. Between our Brooklyn location and our Westfield location, Acting Out is happy to offer an extensive performing arts curriculum for students kindergarten to college.

​Manor Park Swim Club, founded in the 1960s, is a family friendly private swim club located off Central Avenue at Laurel Place in the Manor Park section of Westfield, New Jersey. It has ample off-street parking and offers two separate pools along with a handicap accessible entrance. The main pool features a 6-lane, 25 meter, competition length environment that varies from 3' to 5' in depth. Attached to the main pool is an 12’ deep dive tank with a diving board.

Gymnastics creates psychomotor development incorporating skills that will develop strength, speed, flexibility, balance, power, coordination, agility as well as discipline, socialization and self-esteem. Student's will build strength and have fun while being physically active. Gymnastics is great preparation for any sport or activity your child may want to participate in the future! Surgent's provides New Jersey's most comprehensive gymnastics program! During the course of 37 years of operation and experience has allowed us to develop progression lesson plans and learning tools that combine gymnastics fundamentals and fun for a rewarding class experience. Surgent’s Elite has taught over 70,000 children gymnastics. Our instructors are safety certified, professional and experienced. They bring the newest knowledge in gymnastics from all parts of the world. Our low student to teacher ratio ensures personal attention and maximizes safety. Del Martial Arts provides traditional martial arts programs to students as young as three years old to adult. Inclusion classes are designed for the higher functioning special needs child so they too can experience an activity with minimal adaptations to instruction.

The Westfield Memorial Pool and Aquatic Complex is a public swim facility open to both Westfield and non-Westfield residents.

Through our courses, students gain greater knowledge of themselves through playful theater games and improvisation. Students develop their imagination and intuition, which will in turn, lead to a greater sense of confidence when dealing with unfamiliar situations. The class environment is fun and supportive! The courses are designed to enrich all types of students, from those who love to take center stage to those are not comfortable in public settings.
