The story begins in a magical place called 'New Jersingdom,' where every morning is greeted by the chorus of kids practicing their "do-re-me"s. The leader of this melodic bunch is a delightful young chap named 'Johnny Jingle.' Johnny Jingle, with his twinkling blue eyes, freckled face, and wild curly hair that always looked like he'd been struck by a musical lightning bolt. Johnny would wake up each morning, brush his teeth in A-flat, and harmonize with the toasty bagels popping out of toasters all over town. Ah! The satisfying crunch of a well-toasted bagel, served with a side of a perfectly pitched high C. Every corner of New Jersingdom echoed with the vocal warmth of these kids practicing - from the bustling boardwalks of the Jersey Shore to the serene, grassy meadows of the Pine Barrens. Even the squirrel families in the trees had perfected their three-part harmonies! In New Jersey, whether you're in the city of Newark or the small town of Moorestown, children's laughter is always in tune, and their dreams are written in the universal language of music. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
The mission of the New Jersey Workshop for the Arts, “where talent develops and creativity thrives,” is to enrich lives by providing opportunities to develop creative talents and encourage a greater appreciation of the arts through both instruction and performance. Founded by Executive Director Dr. Theodore K. Schlosberg in 1972, the NJWA has been dedicated to helping children, adults and senior citizens explore and participate in the arts throughout the year with private and group instruction, performing ensembles, summer camps and more. The faculty is composed of professional artists, musicians and educators who nurture the talents of each individual student.
Parents are always looking for ways to nurture their children's artistic talents, and learning the Classics can be a great way to do just that! That’s why we’re thrilled to offer our unique music program, which combines classical training and music theory with a variety of other genres. Not only that, but our program also features special recording features that make learning the Classics fun and interactive. Not only are students able to learn the Classics in an entertaining way, but they also gain a greater understanding of the music theory that goes along with it. Our program encourages children to explore and experiment with different genres, so they can find the type of music that speaks to them and express themselves through it. With our unique recording features, they can create their own compositions and practice their skills, giving them the confidence to pursue a career in music.
