At Sea Turtle Camp, we believe that a summer camp experience should be something special. We strive to create an environment that is both educational and fun, where campers can learn about and appreciate the ocean and its inhabitants. Our knowledgeable team of marine biologists and instructors offer engaging and interactive activities, designed to give campers an unforgettable experience. At Sea Turtle Camp, we strive to foster a sense of stewardship and appreciation for the ocean, its inhabitants, and its delicate ecosystems. Campers can expect to gain confidence, make lasting friendships, and have the opportunity to learn more about the ocean and its inhabitants. Programs at Sea Turtle Camp in Wilmington, NC
BeAKid
Marine Biology Adventure Camp
3During this unique program rising 9th graders – recent high school graduates will learn about sea turtles while building their knowledge of marine biology fundamentals and ocean conservation. We have five species of sea turtles that migrate in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of North Carolina— loggerhead, green, leatherback, and occasionally the hawksbill. Over the course of your stay, you will spend time caring for sea turtles while working alongside the volunteers and interns of the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center. From preparing food to cleaning tanks, you will understand the enormous amount of time, effort and love poured into every turtle. You will get to share this newfound knowledge during a public outreach event. The goal is to one day return them to the sea after being nurtured back to health. While walking the beaches looking for nesting mothers, we’ll learn about nocturnal adaptations. We’ll also patrol in the mornings looking for fresh tracks.

Teen Open Water SCUBA Camp
Escape to the vibrant world below the warm, clear waters of the Atlantic! If you’re drawn to what lies beneath the ocean’s surface – Sea Turtle Camp’s Open Water SCUBA Camp is for you! Lessons begin in the classroom and then move to the pool for hands-on practice with master divers. Then, get a close-up look at rays, tropical fish, corals, algae, and other aquatic life on a series of open-water dives. After completing all the skills, you’ll receive your open-water SCUBA certification.
