At our studio, we recognize that every student is unique and comes with their own musical interests and goals. That's why we customize our teaching methods to create a tailor-made learning experience. We understand that each student learns at their own pace and we take this into account when designing lessons. BeAKid
MINI MUSICIANS Preschool Program
This class is geared towards students ages 3-5 and it is designed to introduce fundamental music concepts through interactive play. Classes are 45 minutes in length and explore a variety of fundamental music skills - aural training, technique, rhythm, and theory. This is a eight month program divided into three 9-week sessions.

Lessons for Children
Research has shown that the study of music greatly contributes to brain development and benefits a child's speech processing, strengthens their working memory, and improves their motor skills. Learning music is an activity that greatly supports and benefits students in other areas of their life. It teaches discipline, responsibility, and time management. Students who have formal music training at a young age score better on standardized tests, have more confidence, and are more conscientious and empathetic. In addition, studying music often results in higher self-esteem and better overall mental health. It is always amazing for us to witness and learn about the abundances of benefits a person receives when they play and learn music!

Virtual Lessons
In addition to one-on-one in person lessons, Port City Music is happy to offer the option of one-on-one virtual lessons to students both near and far. Utilizing a variety of applications, the teachers at Port City Music are able to continue to offer quality instruction that keeps students engaged and motivated. Online lessons are a terrific option for students who are either social distancing or live far away (yet still want to continue their lessons with our fantastic teachers!)
