That’s why Head Start was created in 1965 – to serve children of low income families and involve their parents and communities in the process. It is based on the belief that all children have certain core needs and that by providing a comprehensive, interdisciplinary program, they can be met – especially for those of low income families. Head Start is one of the most successful pre-school programs in the country, and it is based on the notion that all children share certain core needs. It is designed to provide a comprehensive, interdisciplinary development program that meets those needs – particularly those of low income families. The program is unique in that it actively engages parents and communities in the process. This is why it was created in 1965 – to serve children of low income families and involve their families and communities in the program.

For over 17 years, Five Star Athletics Cheer has been providing the best in cheerleading instruction to kids in Brockton and surrounding areas. The program has grown exponentially in the past 5 years, with the purchase of their first training facility and the development of their Elite All-Star Cheer program. The origin of the nursery can be traced back to the charitable work of the “1894 Club”, an organization of young women guided by Leila Delano Richmond. In 1908, former Governor William L. Douglas, expressing his appreciation for the work the organization had been engaged in, presented the Brockton Day Nursery with a building and land on Everett Street along with an endowment to ensure the continuation of its mission. Today, after over 120 years of service, Brockton Day Nursery is located in their permanent home, a 131,000 square foot campus on Crescent Street in Brockton. They continue to serve the Brockton and surrounding communities with its established and highly successful programs. They provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and families, helping to foster a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

Brockton Baseball is a citywide organization that provides an opportunity for the youth of Brockton to learn and compete in the sport of baseball. This organization was formed through a collaboration between Brockton West Youth Baseball and Brockton Youth Baseball, previously known as Brookfield LL and Brockton South-West LL. The goal of Brockton Baseball is to teach fundamental skills through a combination of instruction and competition. We are a Family Child Care System under contract with the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (“EEC”) to provide support and assistance to family child care educators who are part of our System, as well as to your children who are in their programs, and you, the families. We arrange for child-care services to children from infants to school age. We are owned and operated by Child Development and Education, Inc., a premiere early education and care organization that operates throughout Massachusetts.

At Brockton Uechi-ryu Karate Academy, we know that parents want the best for their children.
