Retired teachers Judy, Louise, Barbara, and Susan are passionate about teaching young children and are now offering tutoring and coaching services for grades K through 5. Judy is certified in learning disabilities and Louise is a certified reading specialist. Barbara has extensive literacy skills in early childhood education, and Susan is an accomplished literacy teacher with experience in upper elementary grades.
With years of experience teaching elementary aged students, these four educators are ready to customize a program to fit the needs of each individual child. If parents would like their child to be paired or in small groups, they can communicate that preference to the teachers. Judy, Louise, Barbara, and Susan are excited to work with students and help them excel in academics!

ART CAMP:
Staffed by four teachers and at least three volunteer helpers, our Art Camp meets each summer for one week of friendship, art, creativity and fun. Usually we focus on a few artists and do projects in a similar style. An annual project is papier- mache, messy, but such fun!
We try to ket the students have choices about materials and projects, but it is our goal to expose them to as many varied experiences as is possible in the 15 hours that we are together. In past years we have used acrylic paint, tissue paper, water colors, markers, clay, wire, and more. Our "campers" usually leave us excited, happy, and looking forward to doing more art at home. It is always a week to remember.

Academic Enrichment
At Learning Extension children will experience opportunities to explore their creativity by using their imagination, strengths and skills. They will be able to immerse themselves in projects that are either “too messy, take to much time, or just too out of the box” to be part of the regular education curriculum. It is our hope they will develop at their individual pace, build confidence, and gain a new appreciation for their own special qualities. We hope to inspire all of our students to become life long learners; willing to take risks and embrace opportunities to extend their thinking.
