Ann and Steve Hinchliffe have been a part of the YMCA family for more than four decades. It all began when their family signed up for two of the YMCA's key programs - Adventure Guides and Aquatics. Through these programs, the Hinchliffes were able to gain access to incredible experiences and form lifelong friendships. In line with their commitment to building a strong and equitable community, Ann and Steve decided to dedicate their time and energy to the YMCA. Steve joined the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles board of directors, while Ann joined the San Pedro & Peninsula YMCA board of managers. Both of them went on to serve as chairs of their respective boards, and have since devoted considerable time and resources to making their local community a better place. To recognize their hard work and dedication to service, the YMCA has decided to rename the Hinchliffes' home branch the Ann & Steve Hinchliffe San Pedro & Peninsula YMCA. It is a fitting tribute to the couple's commitment to bettering the lives of others.

The Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) has been working hard to meet the cultural needs of the Southern California community since the 1970s. Founded by a group of San Pedro artists, AGCC began as a collection of artist studios and exhibition spaces housed within 1940s-era Army barracks in Angels Gate Park. Today, the Center offers a full calendar of gallery exhibitions and community classes throughout the year. What's more, the AGCC provides professional work-studio space for 52 artists, including musicians, ceramists, painters, sculptors, writers, photographers, printmakers, and jewelers. The Center's experienced staff is committed to providing these talented creatives with the space and resources they need to bring their art to life. Ultimately, the Angels Gate Cultural Center is a place for the community to come together and appreciate the power of creativity. Through its exhibitions, classes, and artist studios, AGCC is dedicated to nurturing and celebrating the arts.
