Golf can be a great way for kids to grow and learn important lessons about life. Our programs give children the opportunity to do just that in a safe and nurturing environment. Our trained coaches are dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of the game while also encouraging children to take on life’s challenges. Lessons on the course are a crucial part of our programs, but the real value lies in the life lessons that take place off the course. Our coaches use golf as a platform to help children learn about values such as respect, honesty and perseverance. They also help children learn how to manage their emotions and gain self-confidence. By providing a safe and fun environment, our programs make it possible for children to gain the skills needed to succeed both on and off the golf course. Our coaches are committed to helping kids grow and develop in a positive way, giving them the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges.

Dance Dimensions was established in 2004 and has since been the go-to resource for dancing instruction in the Coachella Valley. Thousands of dancers have come through the studio doors looking to develop their skills with a variety of classes, including ballet, jazz, acro/tumbling, hip-hop, tap, modern, musical theatre, adult ballet, and couples ballroom. The studio has earned a wealth of accolades over the years, such as the Dance Talent Achievement Award from the McCallum Theatre's Open Call and multiple submissions to the Palm Desert Choreography Festival. Dance Dimensions is also committed to maintaining the highest standards of love and compassion for all dancers and members of the community. In the summer of 2006, Xavier College Preparatory opened its doors for the first time to 65 freshmen. The school was designed for a maximum of 300 students and the goal was to grow one grade per year until reaching the maximum. The school has since grown to its maximum capacity, and we are proud to report that the school is highly regarded as one of the best private high schools in the Coachella Valley. In 1999, a group of local parents determined to give high schoolers in the Coachella Valley access to great education, set out to create their own school. Securing a 501(c)(3) status and 96 acres of land donated by the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation in 2004, Xavier College Preparatory was ready to go. Community members and snowbirds alike lent their support to the project, with many contributing to the cause financially. The school opened its doors in the summer of 2006, and quickly grew to its maximum capacity of 300 students. It has since become a highly respected institution in the Coachella Valley, with many of its graduates going on to attend some of the most prestigious universities in the country. Xavier College Preparatory remains committed to providing a quality education to students in the Coachella Valley, and continues to be an important part of the local community. This organization offers free, after-school and online arts literacy programs to children ages eight to eleven. These programs provide the opportunity to explore Creative Writing, Art, Music and Theater, and help kids to develop cognitive, emotional, social, multi-sensory and critical thinking skills. Through this hands-on experience, children gain the confidence and skills to express themselves artistically and discover their own creativity. Tools For Tomorrow gives children a “tool for tomorrow”; a coping mechanism for the future and a vision of what their lives can become. By providing free after-school and online arts literacy programs, they are able to foster positive self-esteem, build resilience and gain the tools they need to become successful adults.

Leslie Taft is an inspirational fencing coach who has been a part of the sport for over forty years. She started her career at Cal State Los Angeles in 1976, competing on the women's foil and epee teams. Following her graduation, she joined the Los Angeles Athletic Club to continue her fencing pursuits. In 1984, Leslie moved to the desert and began teaching fencing classes at College of the Desert in 1986. She had a dream of leading a successful fencing team, and in 1990, Leslie was able to turn her vision into reality when she created the C.O.D fencing team. The team has since gone on to compete in foil, sabre and epee and has earned many accolades. Leslie Taft is an inspiring example of what can be accomplished when you follow your dreams. She has been a part of the fencing world for more than four decades, and her legacy of teaching and coaching lives on in all of her students. Her passion and dedication to the sport of fencing has left a lasting impact on the lives of so many.

Rubi and Yolanda Reyes opened Art Flying Yoga in Walteria, Torrance in 2012 and the business quickly became a success. In 2014, their brother Manuel, along with brothers Nick and Enrique, opened up Art Flying Aerial in Lomita to expand the aerial business, and in 2016 Art Flying Yoga moved into the Art Flying Aerial building. Manuel serves as the face of the business, answering customer questions, while Nick and Enrique co-manage. The Reyes family also offers a variety of artistic services from Rubi’s aerial programs and teacher trainings to Yolanda’s belly dance and Zumba classes. Their mother can often be found in their outdoor zen garden cooking up some delicious treats or crafting jewelry in their in-house boutique. Together, the Reyes family has created a unique and thriving business.
