GACA was formed in 2011 with the goal of aiding and supporting children with autism in improving their social, motor, coordination, and golf skills. Recent estimates indicate that 1 in 68 children are living with autism, and GACA has developed a plan to use golf as a tool for helping with social interaction and skill development. This organization was originally started by Rich Amano, Charlene Marson, and Tammy Marson, and GACA has taken a number of steps to realize its vision. Luther Gage was an early settler and horticulturist who settled in the area in the early 1920’s and brought ranunculus seeds with him. Not long after, he began growing them in his fields next to Frank Frazee’s small vegetable farm in South Oceanside. In 1933, Frank Frazee also started growing ranunculus and introduced his son Edwin to the practice of seeding, cultivating and irrigating the flower. At the tender age of 16, Edwin Frazee quit high school to work full time on his father’s flower operation, which was quickly expanding in popularity. Now, 85 years later, the Fields are a direct result of the hard work and dedication of Luther Gage and the Frazee family. The Frazee fields are the epitome of perseverance and dedication, showcasing the impact that Luther Gage and the Frazee family have had on the floral world. Through their hard work and commitment, they have created a legacy that will live on for generations to come.

At IceTown Carlsbad, we use the Learn To Skate USA program for our Skating Academy. The Learn To Skate USA program is designed to be the best beginner’s ice skating program that serves the needs of both the recreational and competitive skater. Through this program, our coaching staff helps skaters achieve their goals, whether they be Olympic fame or simply to enjoy the recreational benefits of skating. Classes are grouped by age and ability and depending on your level, classes are 30 minutes. There are five weeks during the year that classes are not held: Memorial Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year. The monthly payments are due every month and are based on an average of 47 classes per year.
