In the land of cheese and dairy, known to the big folks as Wisconsin, a group of kids were making magic with mud. Yes, mud! These were no ordinary children, they were the "Mud Makers of Wisconsin", transforming globs of dirt into splendid sculptures, all in the cozy heart of America's Dairyland. Our story begins with a curious character named Waldo the Whimsical Wisconsinite. Waldo was a cheeky chap with a head full of curls, a belly full of cheese curds, and an extraordinary talent for ceramics. From his tiny, freckled fingers emerged majestic mud masterpieces; teapots shaped like giant toadstools, vases as vibrant as the sunsets over Lake Michigan, and bowls as big as his love for the Green Bay Packers. Waldo and his squad of Mud Makers were the coolest kids in the state, not just for their ceramic skills, but for the laughter that filled the air while they worked. There were the 'Cheesehead Twins', known for making plates that looked like giant wheels of cheddar cheese. Then there was 'Badger Betty', who could sculpt a life-sized badger with her eyes closed. And who could forget 'Polka-dot Pete'? His ceramic fish sculptures could have lured the mermaids from Lake Superior! As they squished and squashed the mud, their laughter echoed through the valleys of Wisconsin, spreading joy from Green Bay to Madison. In the land of the cheeseheads, where the cows mooed merrily, and the Packers scored touchdowns, the Mud Makers of Wisconsin were creating magic, one handful of mud at a time.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
