At the local skating rink, families can take advantage of a variety of skating times open to the public. Whether you’re a novice skater or a seasoned pro, you can sharpen your skills during stick and puck sessions. Bring your own stick, skates and helmet and you’re ready to go.

Future Einsteins

The Very Merry Theatre began as a small summer camp in Charlotte and Burlington and has since grown to become a theater company for children that performs one-of-a-kind plays at schools and community centers across Northwest Vermont. Executive Director Don Wright, who had three boys attending Edmunds Elementary School at the time, was instrumental in getting these early productions off the ground. These productions set the foundation for the organization's creative potential and served as a stepping stone for the theater's growth.

At Very Merry Theatre, we are passionate about promoting the growth of a vibrant community by providing children of all ages and backgrounds with the opportunity to practice theater. We believe that through the work and play that goes into creating theater, we are fostering literary and theater skills, self-confidence, and pride. Our commitment to this mission is evident in our annual productions at schools and community centers, our Travelling Theater Summer Camps, and our studio in Burlington’s Old North End Community Center.

Covenant Hills is a perfect destination for your church or organization's next retreat. With its 20 years of history as a summer camp, Covenant Hills is a great place to bring your group together. With a variety of activities to choose from and plenty of space to spread out, your retreat will be one to remember.

The United Methodist Church and United Congregational Church of Vermont partnered up to run a summer camp at Covenant Hills for more than 20 years. During that time, it was a place for week long overnight camps. Now it's a property available to rent for retreats, private camps, reunions, and sport events. The amenities are well-maintained and perfect for your next group retreat. With plenty of activities and space to spread out, Covenant Hills is a great spot for your church or organization's next event.

Camp Hochelaga is an American Camp Association accredited camp that offers a variety of overnight, day camp, and leadership development programs. These activities are designed to help build character, self-esteem, self-confidence, empowerment, and leadership. We prioritize social, emotional, and physical safety to ensure that campers have the best experience possible. Our campers have the opportunity to explore a range of activities and make lasting friendships, while having fun and learning important values like collaboration, kindness, leadership, and empowerment. With an emphasis on these core values, Camp Hochelaga provides an unforgettable experience.

YWCA VT Camp Hochelaga

in 1985. Step Up, NNETW's first program, was made possible by funding from the Vermont Department of Education. 14 women were accepted into the inaugural 13-week course, which provided hands-on instruction in technical skills, plus strength and fitness conditioning, workshops to build self-esteem and employability skills, and education on labor law and employee rights. 

Parents of young women looking to build a career in the trades will be pleased to know that Northern New England Tradeswomen (NNETW) was founded in St. Johnsbury in 1985 by Ronnie Sandler. The organization's first program, Step Up, was funded by the Vermont Department of Education, and welcomed 14 women into its inaugural 13-week course. This program was designed to give them comprehensive hands-on training in technical skills, plus strength and fitness conditioning, workshops to help build self-esteem and employability skills, and instruction in labor law and employee rights. 

For over 35 years, NNETW and its Step Up program have been helping young women in Northern New England break into the trades. The program has been successful in giving participants the skills and confidence they need to succeed, and parents should be proud to know that their daughters have access to this valuable opportunity.

Jim Neidlinger, former Major League Pitcher, started Bases Loaded in 2010, with the vision of creating a facility dedicated solely to the training and development of baseball and softball players. Since then, Bases Loaded has seen tremendous growth and success. The instructors are committed to helping their students reach their goals, and the facility is equipped with the latest technology to ensure the best training experience for all players. 

Bases Loaded has seen a great deal of success in recent years. In 2019, not only did the facility have two Gatorade Players of the Year, but more than 30 players were on teams competing for a State Championship. This is a testament to the hard work of the students and instructors alike, and a reminder of the impact that Bases Loaded has had on the local community.

At AED Dance Studio, located in the heart of Richmond, Vermont, we strive to provide high-quality dance instruction in a loving, family-oriented environment. We believe that students of all ages can benefit from exposure to the performing arts. Our staff members teach the styles they love and therefore pass on to the next generation a joy and appreciation for movement and performance.

We offer a variety of dance classes, including Ballet (tiny tots, beginner, intermediate, pre-pointe and pointe), Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz and Musical Theater. We also offer Summer Camps to give kids a chance to explore different styles, from tiny tots Princess Play to advanced instruction in Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Jazz, Musical Theater and Combo camps.
