Canoeing for Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing recreational and educational experiences for disadvantaged children. Our primary goal is to provide free canoeing and kayaking trips for children from underserved communities. By taking part in these activities, children are able to build teamwork, self-reliance, and a sense of accomplishment while having fun and learning to appreciate nature. We offer our services to children's homes, camps for unhealthy, physically or mentally challenged children, and other qualifying groups. We customize the trips to fit the needs and skills of each group, allowing everyone to get the most out of the experience. Over the years, we have been able to provide this service to over 1,000 children per season.

Genova Family Karate of Lexington opened its doors on June 3, 2002. Owned and operated by David Hoover and his family, we specialize in teaching life skills that will help our students both now and in the future. We have had over 100 students of all ages reach the Black Belt level, and the number continues to grow. Our students are learning the focus and commitment necessary to excel in academics, sports, and the workplace. This is evidenced by the fact that over two-thirds of our students are on the honor roll. Furthermore, many of our Black Belts have received scholarships to colleges and universities. We encourage our teenage and adult Black Belts to assist in teaching classes. This instills in them a new perspective on teaching and coaching others, and can help them advance in many aspects of their future professions.

We have a minimum of 6 people and can hold up to 30 painters. Our studio is perfect for birthday parties, bridal showers, girls’ nights out, church groups, and more! You can choose a painting for everyone in the group or have a canvas painting demonstration session. Our professional artists will guide you step-by-step through the same painting, so everyone can go home with a masterpiece! Alternatively, you can pick any painting from our website for each person to work on, and these sessions are not demonstration led.
