About School of Empty Hand Art in Charleston, SC

At our dojo, founded in 1987, we provide martial arts instruction for adults, junior students, and our youngest learners in the Soaring Eagles program for age 4 and 5. Our curriculum covers the essential basics of karate, such as stances, blocks, strikes, kicks, and kata, all with a heavy emphasis on self-defense. We provide traditional classes and sparring classes, as well as summer camps, weekend events, and birthday parties. To round out our program, we offer Cage Fitness, a 30-minute high-intensity interval training session focusing on the upper body, lower body, and core. Participants can opt for whatever level of intensity they choose. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive martial arts experience that helps each person grow in body, mind, and spirit.

ADULT CLASSES

Karate, no matter the age, is beneficial. Most people only see karate as self defense, but the martial arts is much more than that. It teaches you goal setting, discipline, confidence, as well being good exercise.
