WCALL offers two full-sized little league fields located off Rte. 5 near the Crowne Plaza, and one field behind the Warwick Library on Sandy Lane. At TLG, we’ve found that Positive Discipline works best for helping children develop self-discipline and responsibility, and for guiding them toward a more peaceful classroom environment. Positive Discipline focuses on the belief that children need to learn how to manage their own behavior and solve their own problems. Mutual respect between teacher and student is essential, as is the ability to effectively communicate and problem-solve. Rather than using punishments or permissive methods, Positive Discipline employs discipline that teaches, encourages, and focuses on solutions. Encouragement is used to build self-esteem and empowerment, and to recognize effort and improvement rather than just success. TLG has found that this approach is far more effective than traditional methods in helping children develop self-discipline and responsibility.
