Camp Erin® Boston is a FREE bereavement camp for youth who are grieving the death of a significant person in their lives. Traditionally a weekend long program, for 2021-2022, children and teens ages 6 to 17 and their families attend a one-day family camp experience that combines grief education and emotional support with fun, traditional camp activities.
Led by bereavement professionals and caring volunteers, campers are provided a safe environment to explore their grief, learn essential coping skills, and make friends with peers who are also grieving.
HEARTplay is a heart-centered bereavement program. Our mission is to serve children, teens, and young adults of all abilities who are coping with the life-limiting illness or death of an important person in their lives. Licensed mental health counselors and expressive therapists use movement, music, art, play, and discussion to help participants explore and express feelings associated with grief and loss. Participants are invited to honor their person, learn about the grieving process, and connect with peers who have experienced a similar loss. We strive to offer programs and services that are trauma-informed and responsive to the needs of families in our communities. HEARTplay operates under the Children's Services Department of Beth Israel Lahey Health at Home (formerly CareGroup Parmenter Home Care & Hospice, Inc.).
