The Department of Recreation offers a wide variety of programs, special events, recreation centers, parks and other facilities open to residents.

Established in 1938 at 17 Broad Street, Red Bank, New Jersey, Colorest is one of the first art supply stores in Monmouth County. In the late 1970's, Carl Gailing and George Klodin, Sr. formed a partnership and expanded the business, selling art supplies and offering custom framing services. They re-located to Shrewsbury Avenue, Shrewsbury, New Jersey, and in the early 1990's George Klodin became the sole proprietor of Colorest upon the retirement of Mr. Gailing. Klodin, along with his sons George and Ken, continued the operation of Colorest, moving the business in 1998 to its current spacious and convenient location at 160 Newman Springs Road, Red Bank. Upon George Sr.'s passing in 2001, his sons have successfully carried on the Colorest tradition, fulfilling their father's dream of having a family business, where the customers are known by name and the service is friendly and personal. Colorest remains one of the oldest family businesses in Red Bank.

A Time To Kiln is a Red Bank art studio where adults and children come to create their very own masterpieces - or shop for take home versions of our activities - since 1998. Visitors can choose from an array of different activities including: painting on pottery, canvas and wood; Mosaic Making, Critter Stuffing, Glass fusing and Art Classes.

At Goldfish Swim School, we understand the importance of learning life skills and boosting cognitive development at an early age. In the event of attack, Aikido teaches how to effectively defend oneself, while also protecting the attacker. This philosophy acknowledges the preciousness of all life; it is not a fighting art, but a way to defuse aggression through a peaceful and powerful practice. The techniques of Aikido involve redirecting an attacker's energy, taking their balance, and using throws and pins to finish. It is an art form that emphasizes getting off the line of attack and blending with the energy of the attacker. This allows the practitioner to resolve the situation without violence. Aikido is more than just a martial art; it is a way of life. It is a practice of true Budo that emphasizes the value of life and the power of peaceful negotiation. Practitioners of Aikido learn how to protect themselves and others in a way that is both effective and respectful.
