The Yard School of Art is part of MAM's Vance Wall Art Education Center, offering classes, camps, and workshops for kids, teens, and adults.
Our studio art classes and workshops offer those of all ages and abilities an opportunity to build artistic skills and explore creative ideas. Small class sizes ensure individual direction from our teaching artists in a community of people who are as enthusiastic about learning and creating as you are.

SummerART: Teen Fine Arts Intensive Session 3 TEEN (AGE 12–15)
Study a range of artforms and media and build your portfolio in a summer intensive. Refine your technical skills, explore a new medium, or experiment with a new style. Drawing, oil and acrylic painting, and mixed media techniques will all be covered in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. All students will gain a well-rounded knowledge of traditional fine arts media, with a touch of experimentation and adventure to develop their unique voice.

SummerArt Teen Workshop: Zines and Prints Session 3
TEEN (AGE 12–15) CAMPS MIXED MEDIA
Explore how art can guide us in discovering our voices, sharing ideas with other young artists, and channeling creativity as an agent for change. Learn collage, book-making, and printing (e.g., linocut and silkscreen) techniques through the making of zines, journals, posters, t-shirts, tote bags, and other personalized projects. Follow your artistic vision from concept to creation while also learning to communicate what you are passionate about.

SummerART: Teen Ceramics Session 3 TEEN (AGE 12–15)
Create works of art in clay that are functional, decorative, or both-with an emphasis on individual expression. Throwing techniques for centering clay, creating bowls, and cylindrical forms will be covered, followed by finishing techniques, such as glazing, texturing and preparing the work for the kiln. Prior wheel-throwing experience is preferred but not required.
