At GDP, we are passionate about helping each student reach their maximum potential. We are proud members of Dance Masters of America, Dance Educators of America, and the Cecchetti Council of America and believe that dance can have a positive impact on everyone. Our studio provides a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere for all of our dancers, featuring quality dance rooms with special floors, mirrors, viewing windows, sound and bars, as well as a convenient circle drive for quick pick up and drop off. In addition to teaching coordination and rhythm, our dancers learn the importance of friendship, developing a strong work ethic, and gaining the confidence and skills needed to pursue their dreams. Our past students have gone on to join ballet and modern dance companies, become professional performers, dance teachers, competition judges, and even earn dance scholarships to college. Every year, our graduating seniors leave messages of encouragement on the walls of the studio, motivating our younger students to reach for their goals. Dance, Music, Creative Expression, and Art are all unique forms of art that come together to create a beautiful collaboration. Dance is a visual expression that uses our bodies to portray emotion and feeling. Music is a more abstract version of the same, using instruments or our voices to communicate our thoughts. Creative Expression uses language, spoken or written, to convey a message, while Art is a visual representation of this message on paper. Aerial Arts is a form of art that allows us to stretch our imaginations and make us feel like we’re flying. Language Arts is a way to explore new places and ideas through literature. Theatre gives us the opportunity to live the life of the stage. Each of these requires us to use all our senses and feel the idea and the depth of the idea. Combining them together allows us to create a unique and powerful art form. Through this collaboration of Dance, Music, Creative Expression, and Art, we are able to bring an artist’s vision to life. Whether it be in the form of prose or poetry, a musical composition, a dance piece, or a visual representation, we are able to create something impactful and meaningful that can be shared with audiences. Together, these forms of art create a thriving production that is sure to please.
