REACH Studio Art Center is a vibrant non-profit community art center that provides a creative outlet for people of all ages and abilities. At their seven studios located in the REO Town district of Lansing, Michigan, they offer a variety of classes and workshops taught by local teaching artists. These classes and workshops are available at free and sliding-scale fees. The REACH Art Truck program brings the creative outlet to people around town. Through this program, they are able to bring the same classes and workshops that are available at the studios to people who may not be able to physically get to the studios. Rising Star Studio of Dance Arts has been an important part of the local community for more than 30 years. Founded in 1989, this studio is owned by Lori Arendsen and staffed with a team of passionate, energetic dance instructors. With three locations in Waverly, Grand Ledge, and DeWitt, Rising Star offers dance instruction to students of all ages, from 18 months old and up.Each spring, the studio puts on a professionally-run recital that allows all students to showcase their skills. But that’s not all – select groups are invited to perform locally and across the state to compete and entertain. These additional performance opportunities are a great way to help dancers reach the next level.
