    About YMCA Storer Camps in Jackson, MI

    At YMCA Storer Camps, we are dedicated to providing an immersive outdoor experience for our campers. Our 1300 acres of beautiful landscape in the Irish Hills region of southeast Michigan create the perfect environment for campers to explore, discover and grow. YMCA Storer Camps have been offering Outdoor Education programs since the late 1960s, making us one of the earliest programs of its kind in the United States. Our two centers, located on both sides of Stony Lake, offer a variety of programs for our campers. The North Center offers Outdoor School, Youth and Teen Camps, while the South Center hosts Specialty and Day Camps during the summer months. At YMCA Storer Camps, we believe in providing a safe and exciting outdoor experience for our campers.

    Day Camp

    YMCA Storer Camps is pleased to offer a nature and adventure-based day camp specially designed for active or novice campers. Day Camp welcomes campers who are 5 to 12 years old to enjoy traveling around camp by visiting our nature center, waterfront, sports, and all that the outdoors has to offer.

    Outdoor Environmental Education

    The Storer Outdoor School is a hands-on total immersion learning center serving more than 120 elementary and middle schools each year. “The Great Outdoors” makes science and related curriculum come alive, and significantly more relevant, for each student.

    Summer Overnight Camp

    Our summer programs serve campers ages 7 through 17. Campers gain self-esteem and confidence by challenging themselves with a wide variety of skill set tracks and activities, including sailing, horseback riding, kayaking, canoeing, high ropes course, climbing tower, arts and crafts, disc golf, target or team sports and much more. Campers also enjoy nature hikes, campfires, and making new friends, all while learning to succeed in a community environment and of course, having fun!
