Academics
MTC’s academic program gives extra-help tutorials to campers who wish to enhance or improve upon their academic skills over the summer. Many of our staff are certified teachers and experienced educators who tutor in core languages, mathematics, English, creative writing, and the sciences. Campers are asked to bring current textbooks from their regular school.

Silversmithing / Jewelry Making
One of our most popular classes, silversmithing & jewelry gives campers the opportunity to create their own earrings, rings, bracelets, charms, and necklaces in silver, copper, bronze, clay and glass— the possibilities are endless! Our studio instructors teach you how to design using all of the equipment safely and yet give you the freedom needed to create your own masterpiece.

Leadership Training
Our ‘LT’ Program is designed for a small number of Maine Teen Campers who are selected to participate for a full summer program centered on developing individual leadership skills, teamwork skills, and fostering a deeper understanding of how the camp community works.
LT’s participate in specialized programming that combines group lessons on leadership/teamwork, planning of special events, and regular camp classes. LT’s will assist MTC staff in teaching program areas of special interest or expertise, and serve as peer mentors for younger campers in cabins and activities.
