In the magical land of Maine, there are boys and girls who wield whisks like wizards and spatulas like swords, preparing for a culinary battle every day. They are the Kitchen Knights of Maine, a fearless brigade of young culinary geniuses. They are not just kids, they are the future master-chefs, the Bobby Flays and Julia Childs of tomorrow. 

Maine, a place where trees whisper secrets to the wind, where moose roam freely, and lobsters play hide and seek in the water, is their playground. And there is magic here, a special culinary magic. It's in the wild blueberries they pick from the enchanted forests, the apples that fall like raindrops from the orchards, and in the lobsters they fish straight out of the hypnotic Atlantic waves.

Whilst other kids might be playing video games or watching TV, these kids are in their kitchens, aprons tied around their waists, armed with a cookbook in one hand and a wooden spoon in the other. They're on a mission, a delicious mission - to create the most scrumptious, taste-bud-tickling recipes in all of Maine.

And who leads these Kitchen Knights, you ask? A cool imaginary character named Chef Muffin Moose, a jovial giant moose with a toque blanche (that's a chef's hat, for the uninitiated), and a spatula bigger than your average skateboard. He guides them through their culinary adventures, cracking jokes that make the lobsters chuckle in their pots, and spinning tales about the legendary food warriors of old.

So, step into the world of the Kitchen Knights of Maine, where every day is a cooking escapade, every meal is a magical feast, and every child is a culinary warrior, baking and stirring their way into your hearts.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

The multi-purpose center offers a variety of stores and restaurants to choose from. From clothing stores, to hair salons, to coffee shops, you're sure to find something that suits your needs. There's also plenty of places to grab a bite to eat, so you can rest assured that you won't go hungry.

Finally, the multi-purpose center is not just a great place to shop and eat, but also a great place to relax and unwind. There's plenty of seating and relaxing areas, so you can take a break from your day and just enjoy the atmosphere. Whether you want to take a break from shopping or just want to enjoy some peace and quiet, this center has something for everyone.

Westbrook Community Center

Tripp Lake Camp is the perfect place to make lasting memories and create lifelong friendships. Nestled in the piney woods of northern Maine, this full-season camp offers an array of activities for girls ages 7 to 16. From team and individual sports to performing and visual arts, outdoor living, and more, campers are encouraged to challenge themselves and gain confidence. What truly sets Tripp Lake apart is our commitment to the Spirit of Tripp Lake - a spirit of camaraderie, enthusiasm, compassion, respect, and responsibility that is woven into every aspect of camp life. This is the perfect place to foster values that will last a lifetime!

Dr. George Alexander Kohut, a literary scholar and educator with a vision to provide a healthy and character-building outdoor experience, founded Kamp Kohut in 1907. Coming from the heat and pollution of the city, he ran a boys' school in New York, hence calling it "Kohut's School for Boys".

At Kamp Kohut, we pay special attention to the individual qualities of each camper. We understand that each child has different needs and interests and we strive to make sure that all campers have a truly special summer experience. We provide close supervision and carefully orchestrated detail to ensure that each child’s camp experience is successful.

Fernwood Cove is a place where girls can be themselves and explore their potential. With a focus on age-appropriate skill development and personal growth, Fernwood Cove is a place where the possibilities are endless. From the intentional program, inclusive community, and supportive staff, your daughter will have an amazing summer that she will never forget. Girls ages 7-15 and teens ages 16-18 have the opportunity to explore their independence, build strong relationships, and develop self-confidence.

Abe and Gertrude Krasker's dream of owning a summer camp came true in 1924 when they opened Indian Acres Camp for Boys in Fryeburg, ME. The couple had fallen in love with a property they purchased from Abe's student at Essex College. Two years later, they opened Forest Acres Camp for Girls two miles down the road. 

When Abe passed away in 1962, his son Richard took over the management of both camps, with his mother teaching him the ropes of camp ownership. He and his wife Sandy fully took over in 1969. In 1998, the camps were purchased by Lisa and Geoff Newman who were determined to keep the tradition the Kraskers had established alive. 

Between 2005 and 2010, Neal and Julie Waldman co-directed camp with Lisa and Geoff. Now, almost 100 years after its founding, Indian and Forest Acres thrive under the Newman’s leadership with tradition at the heart of what makes the camp so special.

Forest Acres Camp for Girls

Summer camp is a unique experience that cannot be found in any other classroom. Opening and closing circle is just a hint of the wonderful world of summer camp that families can experience. From building fairy houses to using a curry comb on a horse, the activities that campers can participate in are diverse and exciting. 

Beyond the exciting activities, campers and counselors return year after year to experience the magic moments that are found at camp. Whether it’s playing flashlight tag on an overnight, swimming in the pool, or climbing the tire on the vertical playground, the memories made at camp are cherished and often shared.

Camp O-AT-KA is dedicated to creating a nurturing and supportive environment for boys ages 8-16. Campers are encouraged to embrace traditional values and skills development in an atmosphere of safety and respect. Group living and daily camp gatherings help to foster positive relationships and build a strong foundation for life. 

The 8-studio arts center, located in a beautiful lakeside setting, offers a variety of activities including painting, drawing, ceramics and jewelry-making. Older boys can take part in wilderness trips such as sea-kayaking, canoeing, and hiking. Campers can also participate in a variety of other activities, such as campfires and special events. Fun and adventure await at Camp O-AT-KA!

Camp O-AT-KA

Camp Pondicherry in Bridgton, Maine is a spectacular outdoor setting nestled on over 600 acres in the foothills of the White Mountains. Referred to affectionately as ‘Pondi’, this idyllic camp offers a private waterfront on Adams Pond and miles of unspoiled woodlands, fields and trails. 

The camp provides campers with easy access to hiking, beautiful lakes, mountains, quaint towns and ski slopes, making it the ideal destination for day camp, resident camp, troop camp and family camp. 

When not in use for the summer camp session, Pondi is available for rental use! The property offers several heated year-round buildings and seasonal campsites perfect for large or small groups.

At Camp Kingswood, we have been creating lifelong memories and friendships for over a century. Our campers come back year after year, creating a strong sense of community and belonging. We fully endorse the therapeutic effects of crafting and are firm believers in the stress-relieving properties of creative expression. So, come and soak in the serene, artistic ambiance. With a staff of highly trained counselors, MTC provides a secure and safe environment where teens can develop their independence and gain confidence.
