Rainbow Family Daycare is a safe, fun atmosphere for children ages 18 months to 5 years old. We offer both full-time and part-time slots. Hours of operation are 7:30am - 5pm, Monday - Thursday. We are closed on Fridays.
Rainbow Family Daycare has been operating for over 3 decades. It resides on the first floor of a residential home in Swampscott, MA. The house was originally the site of a small grocery market, but in 1981 when I purchased the home, I converted the market into a licensed Large Family Daycare. With my credentials and the space being a separate entity from the household, Rainbow is able to function as a preschool. It makes for the perfect blend for parents and children looking for a preschool environment with a homey feeling.... Show more

Goals for the younger children (ages 18 months to 3 years old
The academic goal for these children is to be able to recognize their colors, shapes, numbers, letters, and names in print. We teach them about safety, learning their addresses and phone numbers. We pay attention to their cognitive skills and help improve their motor skills. We even help in the potty training stage as well:)... Show more
Goals for the older children... (ages 3 years old and up)
Academically, it is time to prepare them for kindergarten. We start putting those letters we have learned together to make words. We make sure the children can hold a pencil properly and write their names. Proper use of scissors and the ability to dress, including buttoning and zippering are important skills for this age. Being able to toilet themselves, as well as sit, listen and follow directions, are just more skills to be taught in preparation for kindergarten.... Show more
Goals for all children...

- Nutritional: Rainbow has a formal nutritional component incorporated into its curriculum sponsored through Child Health and Nutrition.
