About North Shore Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Salem, MA
Jiu-Jitsu is a great way to help your child develop physical and mental strength, as well as confidence.
Jiu-Jitsu is an exciting and rewarding martial art that allows children to work at their own pace and focus on individual achievement. Unlike many traditional competitive sports, no one is "benched" or forced to "sit out" in Jiu-Jitsu. At NSBJJ, we follow the guidelines for minimum requirements set by the IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation). Kids learn to work hard and strive for their next belt or belt stripe, all while having fun.
The benefits of enrolling your child in Jiu-Jitsu are immense. Not only will it help them to develop physical strength and fitness, but they will also gain mental strength and confidence. Jiu-Jitsu teaches kids the importance of setting goals and working hard to achieve them. The sense of accomplishment your child will experience when they reach their goal is priceless!
Programs at North Shore Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Salem, MA
Little Champs - Ages 6-9
In our Little Champs Programs, we focus on the strong foundations of Jiu-Jitsu and self-defense. We also add in fun games, fitness, and agility training! This class also involves our Character Development & Bully Defense Program. We believe in building up our younger students to be good citizens of the world, learning to develop strong self-confidence, respect for others, and the importance of trying your best in life!
Jr. Jiu-Jitsu Program - Ages 10-14
This program is specifically designed for our older students. These classes include lots of physical exercises, Jiu-Jitsu-specific warm-ups, and agility training. At NSBJJ we feel that as kids get older it is more important for them to be fit, active, and have the proper body awareness to better adapt to their growing bodies and to establish an active lifestyle that will stay with them into adulthood. In the Jr. Jiu-Jitsu Program we also work with the kids on self-discipline, focus, and how to properly deal with Peer Pressure. It can be a tough time for kids entering Middle School and getting prepared for High School.
