At Kesher Newton, parents can rest assured knowing their children are receiving an inclusive, comprehensive Jewish education. The program is pluralistic and open to all, allowing children to explore their Jewish identity in a fun and supportive setting.
Kesher Newton is designed to foster a joyful and inclusive Jewish community where children can connect to their Jewish heritage. Through the program, children develop a deep understanding of Jewish history, culture, and ethics. With electives, experiential learning, and fun activities, Kesher Newton provides an enriching after-school program for grades K-8.
Kesher’s philosophy to teaching Hebrew is based on the proficiency approach. Through the proficiency approach, language becomes relevant to the learners. At Kesher, this learner centered approach emphasizes the ability to function in Hebrew, to actually be able to use the language playing soccer and board games, having snacks, in social interactions with staff and other kids. The kids are divided into groups that are based on proficiency and developmental appropriateness.
