At Seishin, children are able to learn the martial art of Kenpo, a combination of Chinese and Japanese martial arts. This ancient art has evolved over generations from Kajukenbo, originating in Okinawa, to the martial art of Kenpo as we know it today. While learning the traditional movements, students also gain an understanding of the culture and history behind their martial arts. In addition to Kenpo, students are also able to learn sport karate. Through this modern training, children improve on their balance, flexibility, and stamina. Not only this, but children are taught how to communicate effectively, both verbally and non-verbally, to de-escalate any situation. They are also taught real world self-defense techniques, designed to neutralize physical altercations. At Seishin, children are able to experience the best of both worlds. Through the two-part curriculum, students are able to learn the ancient martial art of Kenpo, as well as modern sport karate, providing them with a well-rounded martial arts education. Not only does this help to improve their physical skills, but also aids in teaching them how to communicate and handle situations both verbally and physically.
