Bill Seretta, Kathy Townsend, and Art Bertrand founded CHD with the goal of bringing life-saving services to homes, schools, workplaces, and community centers, instead of sending people away for help. The introduction of community-based care revolutionized the system and provided more than 80 programs and services to help people struggling with hunger, homelessness, and healthcare needs. CHD has been fighting for families for nearly 50 years and they continue to work hard every day to ensure that all individuals have the opportunity to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. CHD doesn’t back down in the face of adversity. They strive to find solutions to the toughest problems and they never give up. With their hard work and dedication, CHD has been able to give hope to thousands of families across Western Massachusetts and Connecticut.
