For 25 years, Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School’s BRAVO program has been providing students with the opportunity to experience the powerful transformation of performing arts. BRAVO has become the largest extracurricular program, with over 30% of the student body participating. They use the arts to help foster imagination, empathy, and inclusivity, while promoting courage, community, and diversity. The BRAVO staff and Advisory Board are dedicated to providing quality, diverse, and equitable programming for all students. The program's initiatives and objectives focus on the performing arts, providing students with skills like motivation, time management, organization, and self-esteem. Additionally, BRAVO encourages parent and community involvement, allowing them to help guide students in achieving success.
